Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Chatter Nest Speech Therapy PLLC ("Chatter Nest," "we," "us") operates chatternesttherapy.com. This page explains what information the website collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.

What this policy covers

This policy covers information submitted through this website — primarily the inquiry form — and information you send us by email or phone before becoming a client.

It does not cover the clinical records we maintain for children who become clients of the practice. Those records are protected health information and are governed by HIPAA and applicable state law. Clients receive a separate Notice of Privacy Practices when services begin.

What we collect

When you complete the inquiry form, we collect only what you choose to enter:

Every field is optional except the ones marked required. You are never obligated to describe a diagnosis, medical history, or evaluation results in order to reach us.

A note on what to share. The inquiry form is a general contact form, not a secure patient portal. Please share only what you're comfortable putting in a web form. A general area of concern — "speech sounds," "not talking much yet," "stuttering" — is more than enough to start a conversation. We'll gather clinical detail later, through appropriate channels.

How we use it

We use what you send us to:

That's the entire list.

What we don't do

Who else touches your information

A small number of service providers handle your submission in the course of delivering it to us. They process it on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

All three are based in the United States, and your information is processed there. If we add another system later — a scheduling or practice management platform, for example — we'll list it here before it starts handling inquiries.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or where necessary to address a credible risk of harm to a child — an obligation that applies to all licensed clinicians.

Fonts and analytics

This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels on this site.

Children's information

This website is written for parents, caregivers, and school administrators, not for children, and we don't knowingly collect information directly from children. Any information about a child on this site comes from the adult submitting the form, and we treat it with corresponding care.

How long we keep it

If your inquiry doesn't lead to services, we keep it only as long as needed to follow up, and you may ask us to delete it sooner. If you become a client, clinical records are retained for the period required by New York and New Jersey professional licensing rules, which is longer than we would otherwise keep anything.

Your choices

You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete an inquiry. Email us and we'll take care of it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law; tell us what you'd like and we'll honor it regardless of which statute applies.

Security

We use reputable providers, keep accounts protected, and limit access to the people who need it. No method of transmitting information over the internet is perfectly secure, which is the reason for the note above about what to include in the form.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of the page.
